3-Phase-Finish

The decisive factors for finish quality

The fibres are first made to swell up by applying steam, and then smoothed out to eliminate tension.

The fabric structure is smoothed by means of heat and stretching forces evenly applied from top to bottom.

Smoothing and drying cross over in the finishing process, so that moisture remains in the fibres almost until the end of the process, thereby preventing over-drying, creasing and colour changes.

The technical layout: 3-phase finish

In the first phase, the articles are heated up and treated intensively with saturated staem.

In the second phase; a highperformance mixture of spray steam / hot air is applied to the articles.

Drying using hot air takes place in a third, relatively short phase, particularly in critical areas such as pockets and seams.

The result

Consistent, relieable finish quality in which the uniformity of the surface smoothness is far superior to conventional methods.

The specific mixture of spray steam and hot air in the 3 finish phases means that the system can adapt to a wide variety of fabrics as well as creases items.

3-phase finish in conjunction with direct air flow and insulated climatic chamber result in optimum performance: energyconsumption and technical effort are favourably balanced against the quality and performance achieved.

The Folding Machine for all Types of Garments

KSL - a new generation of folding technology for the lower performance range, offering versatility and the highest folding precision.

The KSL folding machine can be used for all types of garments, shapes and fabrics from shirts to overalls, from crisply pressed doctor´s coats to short, waist jackets.

The machine can be installed on a standalone basis in a centralised postion within an inspection area or within a coat cabinet system.

The new machanism and intelligent control result in high performance - the machine cycle lasts only a mere 6 seconds. After this the smooth, fully cleared, stainless steel surface is ready for the next article.

The manual correction of folds often still required in conventional folding machinery, is a thing of the past thanks to the KSL, eliminating a procedure which slows down performance.

The Level of folding precision which could not be reached consistently using previous technology, results from the interplay of templates, stop alignemt bars and innovatively designed and actuated folding wings: which turn inwards in an arc and are lowered onto the item from above.

Optimum ergonomic efficiency and easy operation are the minimum requirements for the alliance of man and machine: the evaluation of comprehensive investigations shows the unacceptable ergonomics of the folding machine used to date. The KSL folding machine puts an end to this.
ROBOFOLD VARIO
Fully automatic garment folding with variable capacity

The ROBOFOLD VARIO is a major piece in the process of moving towards fully automatic garment finishing. No manual control is required at all and it also adjusts to the requirements of the specific garments it is handling:

- Variable folding capacity for between 450 and 700 garments per hour.

- Variable automatic recognition of the garment type using a photo cell.

- Variable automatic machine setting on the basis of recognised garment type.

The ROBOFOLD VARIO will fold the most diverse pieces of industrial workwear and hospital clothing - from work suits to overalls and from patient nightshirts to theatre gowns - reliably and economically. The ROBOFOLD can handle garments up to 1500 mm in length with perfect results every time.

FA-4 High Performance Folding Robot

The Bench Marks

The machine can be used without restrictions for the full range of articles from hospitals to industrial workwear.

The maximum folding length for garments is 1800 mm.

Performance depends on the length of garments and is between 900 and 1000 garments per hour.

Folding robots of the FA-X series

Folding robots can generate substantial rationalisation improvements - the per capita performance can be multiplied and a classical bottleneck in the workflow can be eliminated. The FA-X folding robots represent further improvements to the sucecessful FA-4 machines from KANNEGIESSER, who have been in the market since their pioneering work with the first generation - the Robofold and FA-3.

The FA-X machines can be used for almost the entire range of garments, for which folding robots can be considered as standard technology in modern laundry operations. In many cases they have initiated a revival of the trend towards the delivery of folded garments due to logistical advantages involved. Machine availability and simple maintenance are crucial criteria to the consistent operation of folding robots in a similar way to moisture extraction presses or folding machines.
